Dinah flinched. 

She saw Kemuel ask her something. His expressions were concerned, panicked. She felt his vibrations. But there was no sound or contact. No feeling. No communication. The atmosphere between them absorbed every motion, seeming to take his words and vibrations and send them somewhere else. His utterances were as nothing. Dinah’s xia were still present in this realm, but a part of her was missing. Somewhere else.

Damn, c’mon.

The female on Earth.

C’mon, bitch.

Dinah felt the vibrations from the humans, and she recalled a different past Reality. Right after she had fought her mother. You have seven minutes in that realm before the curses begin to seal you in.

What realm? Dinah had asked, confused as to what her mother was referencing. 

Earth. 

Dinah had objected, I would never. 

Her mother had retorted, You would. You are your father’s child— ever the bleeding heart.

Dinah’s brothers hovered around her now. Her surroundings became surreal, confusing her. 

The human’s voice returned. Dinah’s Earth counterpart was diminishing. 

Le … go.

Dinah felt her. Felt the human’s nehari entering the Kol. Felt the Kol River preparing to receive her. Dinah didn’t know why, but somehow, she had known the girl’s suffering was imminent. More than that. Termination of her other half was now imminent.
